Highest quality at a very reasonable price!

In a review of 19 practice management software packages in the May, 1996 issue of Practice Strategies, the AAMFT magazine, the least expensive software package of the nineteen packages listed, Practice MAGIC, was rated as one of the two BEST programs for solo practices. (The other recommended package costs eight times as much as MAGIC.) Practice MAGIC was particularly singled out for it's outstanding customer support. Of course, Practice MAGIC has improved enormously since then. The professional magazines, however, have not done an extensive comparative review since then.

Prices:

Standard version: The standard version sells for $149.95 and comes complete with a full 100 page manual in ELECTRONIC form. It can be opened with any web browser, and any information you seek can be easily located using the "search" or "find" function of the web browser (usually CTRL + "F"). After three years, this version requires that the user purchase a yearly update for $39.95. (Add 8.25% sales tax if you live in California.)

Unlimited version: The cost of an unlimited version is $199.95. It comes complete with a full 100 page manual in ELECTRONIC form. It can be opened with any web browser, and any information you seek can be easily located using the "search" or "find" function of the web browser (usually CTRL + "F").  No yearly updates are required at any time. (An unlimited code is provided after the first year) At a reasonable cost, you can order updates if you so choose. (Add 8.25% sales tax if you live in California.)

CMS-1500 only version: This version sells for $119.95  version is identical to the standard version in every respect except that it does not keep track of receivables or do client billing. It fills out insurance forms and maintains your calendar only. Like the standard version, after three years this version requires that the user purchase a yearly update for $39.95.  For $169.95 an unlimited version is available that will only fill out CMS-1500 and HCFA-1500 forms and maintain your calendar. (Add 7.25% sales tax if you live in California.)

Palm Pilot Hotsync Feature (Windows only): The cost of the palm pilot hotsync feature is $50. In order to use it, you will need to start with a relatively fresh handheld calendar. If you've used yours for years, you will probably want to create an archive of your current calendar, and then purge most of it as explained in the handheld manual under "purge." MAGIC only hotsyncs with handhelds that use the older (pre-1.4) PALM operating systems (including those by Sony, Handspring, and of course Palm. NOT including HP and COMPAC.)

Multi-User version (Windows only): For 2 to 3 users add 50% to the above prices. For 4 to 7 users, double the above prices. For 8 to 20 users, triple the above prices. (These multipliers also apply to the price of updates and/or upgrades)

CMS-1500 Upgrade for NPI#: Programs ordered before June 1, 2006 are designed to fill our the HCFA-1500 form.  Customers who have ordered the program since then are entitled to a free upgrade to a version of the program that can fill out or print either the HCFA-1500 or the CMS-1500 form with NPI#.  All new orders come with the CMS-1500 upgrade already installed, allowing them to fill out CMS-1500 forms with NPI#. (Only versions of the program running on Windows XP or newer operating systems offer the option of printing the entire form in red and filling it out in black, or just filling it out.) Customers who have ordered the program before June 1, 2006 who would like this upgrade will need to pay $39.95 for it (NO S&H charge). It can be ordered from the order page.

Utility for updating client files for CMS-1500: To prepare client files for filling out the CMS-1500, when the HCFA-1500 was previously being used, each client file will need to be edited.  This can be done by hand, using Practice MAGIC to modify each client file, or a utility is available that will automatically modify all client files. The cost of this utility is $29.95 (NO S&H charge) and it can be ordered from the order page.

After you have mailed your check, if you want your software right away, email us at order.jpg (4869 bytes) or order through the Orders Page of this website or telephone us at 510-528-7000 and let us know that the check has been sent, what version (standard or unlimited) you ordered, what operating system you have (Windows 95/98/ME/XP, MAC OSX-pre LION), and where we need to send your order, and we will send it out without waiting for your check to arrive. (Remember also to include 7.25% sales tax if you live in California. Orders are now supplied over the internet, so there is NO $10 S&H charge.)

To pay by credit card, first e-mail your order to us at order.jpg (4869 bytes).  Then go to http://www.paypal.com, click on "SEND MONEY" and, if you do not already have a PAYPAL account, sign up for a free account.   Once you have an account, you can log in and again click on the "SEND MONEY" tab at the top of the screen. When you do this you will be asked "recipient's email" to which you should answer order.jpg (4869 bytes). You will also be asked the amount of money you want to send and there will be a box for comments.  Be sure to include in your comments the operating system running on your computer (i.e. Windows 98, Windows XP, MAC OSX etc.) There is a $5 surcharge from Cornucopia Software if you pay by credit card using PAYPAL; this offsets some of the charges from PAYPAL for providing this service. Please remember to add the extra $5 to the amounts listed above and 8.25% sales tax if you live in California. All orders are now supplied over the internet, so there is NO $10 S&H charge.
