Rachel
Walker. Course
Description: Enhancing EMDR with IFS and
Structural Dissociation Parts Work: Why
is it that sometimes EMDR doesn’t work, or only works part way? EMDR,
Structural Dissociation, and Internal Family Systems all address
specific clinical issues. What key concepts and interventions can we learn
from these theories, and how can they work better in collaboration? Deepen
your effectiveness as an EMDR therapist by learning when and how to
integrate these ‘parts’ models. Rachel Walker,
Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist. I am
an EMDRIA Approved Consultant with a full-time private practice in
Berkeley, CA. There I treat clients with a broad spectrum of
trauma-related issues, as well as provide individual and group
consultation to new and experienced EMDR therapists. I’m
passionate about the subject of dissociation, and present in the Bay Area
on the treatment of dissociation within an EMDR framework. Other
professional interests include the development of an EMDR group-protocol
for the treatment of collective trauma from genocide and armed conflict. My
training in psychotherapy began in the arts, where I learned to apply
play, metaphor and precision to the work. In my personal life, I
continue to dance, write, quilt and draw for no reason, as well as spend
time with my family (and two wily garden kitties!). Contact: rachel@rachelwalkermft.com / 510-501-2936
