Course Description: This workshop is part II of a two-part basic training in EMDR approved by the EMDR International Association (EMDRIA). It is intended for active clinicians who wish to learn to use this powerful method.  Part II is being offered the third weekend of January, 2010. Completion of an approved EMDR Part I training is required in order to take Part II. Although not required, it is also  recommended that participants practice using EMDR prior to Part II, receive some consultation, and read the book, EMDR Basic Principles and Protocols by Dr. Francine Shapiro. In addition to Part I and Part II, 10 hours of group telephone consultation (dates tbd) completes the 50 hour training requirement of the EMDR International Association (EMDRIA). Although this is a basic course in EMDR treatment, it is expected that, with the completion of the full 50 hour training, participants will be qualified to use this treatment method.(NOTE: This training should not be confused with workshops offered in recent months  in the Portland area that claim to train clinicians in EMDR but  are not approved by any EMDR organization; participants in those trainings would not be eligible for EMDRIA certification, and may not ethically advertise that they have been EMDR-trained.)
